What this result means

Weekly volume equals runs per week times average distance per run. This tool solves that identity in either direction when you know two of the three numbers.

Use it when a plan says four runs averaging 12 km, or when you ran five times totalling 55 km and want the average outing length.

Four runs per week at 12 km average → 48 km weekly volume.

Five runs totalling 55 km → 11 km average per run.

Calculation method

weekly volume = runs per week × average distance. Rearrange when you lock a different pair of inputs.

Exact arithmetic. Distances use your header unit (km or mi).

Assumes every run counts equally; it does not weight quality sessions.

Does not suggest how many runs you should do — it only computes the relationship.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find average distance per run?

Divide weekly volume by runs per week. Example: 48 km ÷ 4 runs = 12 km average.

How many runs do I need for a target weekly volume?

Divide target volume by your planned average distance to get runs per week, or fix runs and solve for average distance using the form.

Does this include cross-training?

Only if you enter those sessions as runs with a distance. The math is generic multiplication.

Do I need an account?

No. Calculations run locally in your browser.
