What this result means
Treadmill consoles speak speed. Watches speak pace. This page starts from the belt: type km/h or mph and read min/km and min/mile. It is the same identity as the pace-to-speed converter, framed for the deck.
Use it when you are standing on a treadmill and thinking in pace. Use the treadmill speed calculator when you have a pace target and need the belt setting. For a full distance and session table from one belt speed, open the treadmill board.
12.0 km/h is 5:00/km and about 8:03/mile (7.5 mph). 10.0 km/h is 6:00/km. 16.0 km/h is 3:45/km. 6.0 mph is 10:00/mile.
Easy jogging often sits near 8.0–9.0 km/h (7:30–6:40/km). A marathon-pace session at 12.0 km/h is the same 5:00/km you would program outdoors if the belt is accurate.
Calculation method
Seconds per kilometre = 3600 ÷ km/h. Mile pace is kilometre pace × 1.609344. Displayed pace rounds to the nearest second; speed to one decimal place.
This is exact arithmetic. There is no incline model on this page. For deck grade, open the treadmill incline calculator.
Belt calibration varies. The output matches the number you typed, not a correction for a miscalibrated deck. Wind and terrain are not in the math.
Frequently asked questions
What pace is 12 km/h on a treadmill?
5:00 per kilometre, or about 8:03 per mile. That is also 7.5 mph.
Is this different from the pace-to-speed converter?
The math is the same. This page is belt-first for treadmill sessions. The converter is the general watch and race-brief tool.
Does incline change the pace?
Not on this page. Pace here is belt speed only. Open treadmill incline for flat-equivalent pace at a deck grade.
What about mph treadmills?
Switch the belt unit to mph. 6.0 mph is 10:00 per mile. Both km/h and mph are always shown in the result.
