What this result means
This is the inverse of the treadmill pace calculator. You know the pace you want to hold. The treadmill wants a speed dial. Type min/km or min/mile and read km/h and mph.
Use it before a session when your plan is written in pace. Use treadmill pace when the console is already set and you want the pace language. Outdoor converters without treadmill framing live on the pace-to-speed page.
5:00/km sets 12.0 km/h (7.5 mph). 4:00/km sets 15.0 km/h. 6:00/km sets 10.0 km/h. 8:00/mile is about 12.1 km/h (7.5 mph).
Threshold work near 4:30/km is 13.3 km/h. Easy running near 6:30/km is about 9.2 km/h. Those are belt settings if the deck is accurate.
Calculation method
km/h = 3600 ÷ seconds per kilometre. mph = km/h ÷ 1.609344. Displayed speed rounds to one decimal place; pace to the nearest second.
Exact arithmetic. No incline, no effort model, and no outdoor correction on this page.
A calibrated belt and a GPS watch can still disagree outdoors. This tool answers the console setting for the pace you typed.
Frequently asked questions
What treadmill speed is 5:00 per kilometre?
12.0 km/h, or 7.5 mph.
Can I enter mile pace?
Yes. Switch the header to miles and type min/mile. The result still shows both km/h and mph.
How is this different from treadmill pace?
Treadmill pace starts from belt speed. This page starts from a target pace and returns the belt setting.
Does this include 1% incline?
No. Incline is separate. Set the grade on the deck, then use the incline calculator if you want flat-equivalent pace.
